| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2005 Deep chestnut color w a hint of orange when held to the light. Moderate, dense head of light tan bubbles that settles to a thin covering. Holy S*** 9.5%? - just looked closer at the label. Didn’t prepare myself for one this strong, but I’m up for the challenge. Rich malty aromas, with some wild flower honey and a hint of peat in the background. This is a dopplebock ale on steroids. Rich malt flavors pave the path with light fruit and flowers strewn in the way. My malt love root thrive on this one. Smooth feel, with just a tingle of carbonation to keep things from getting to heavy on the palate. A dry, just finished with a cigarette type linger what bitter and mildly annoying. Otherwise this one is a good malt monster in my book. Thanks Beerbuzzmontreal for this fine selection. ľ (5006), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 25, 2005 An amazingly rich and complex scotch ale, possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. A bit strong, with some stinging alcohol and wood flavors, some rich black cherries, plums, brown sugar and a slight lactic quality. Very crisp, though, and very fresh tasting. Rivals the Waling Man Scotch Ale as my favorite from the style. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2005 A red-brown beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is sweet and slightly roasted. The flavor is sweet malty and roasted, but also with some notes of alcohol. Thanks Stephen (tiggmtl) for bringing this to RBESG, since I couldn’t find it when I was in Montreal. Strange medical taste, witch just went from bad to worse during the drink. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Nose full of lovely roasted malt. Sweetish body yet with rather dry, roasted notes and a marked finishing bitterness for balance. And indeed this is a balanced and harmonious brew. 120805
