Dry from bitterness but not astringent aftertaste, though not noticeably malty. Best Canadian pils? Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2004 Pale gold slow moving big bubble carb. Little white head. Strong sweet hoppy roasty malt aroma. Almost no cat piss. Good mouthfeel. Caramel and cereal flavours. Quite bitter hop and burnt grain. Crisp and clean. Finish carries fine puffs of lemon burp. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 24, 2004 Clear medium gold. Hoppy-bready aroma with some mineral notes. Slightly crisp, with warm maltiness. Hops are grassy, slightly fruity. Cat piss came on a little too strong though. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2004 Intense pale green-gold; irregular snow-white head. Nose with grain, sweet malts, flowery, but just a whiff of hops in the background. An aroma of starfruit or cactus fig. One intensely short moment of a sweet fruit (difficult to say which); then follows a revolving of intense hoptaste, suitably bitter and sweet golden malt. Bitter mouthimpression keeps going on for long. Rather well-bodied. Bitterish taste is on the verge of harsh. An excellent balance. It didn’t really remind me of the great Czech Pilseners, but it is an interesting bottom fermenting beer all the same. thanks Martin! Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2004 Blonde with a nice thick frothy head. Grassy smell with nice hops. Good bodied beer with a good balance and hops, very czech in style, dry and not too sweet. Very good interpretation. Boutip (2404), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Bottle: Poured a light blondish brew with a huge head with standard retention. Carbonation is average with a nice standard body for this type of beer. Aroma is quite floral with a hint of dryness. Taste is a bit dry with some nice notes of malts. Overall, this is a very enjoyable example of the pilsner style comparable to Pilsner Urquell but I’m just not a huge fan of this type of beer. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
