Commercial Description:
Un genre d'hybride bière/tawny/cognac... Des fruits, cerises, dattes, caramel et tout le pataclan sur une finale toute chaude d'alcool. Une gaterie à partager avec l'être cher.

For me the brewer, it's not made to be an American Strong Ale or something else. It's made to be a kind of barley based port-style with very little carbonation, just enought to protect it against oxydation.

TITW Part Deux - 12oz bottle, courtesy of HogTownHarry. Thanks, Harry!! Clear brownish amber color; slightest head. Significant boozy, maple syrup and candy sugar in the aroma. Full, viscous mouthfeel: slightly oxidized, maple syrup and cotton candy, citrus hops and flowers; lots of things going on here. Long, sugary finish: syrupy and cotton candy.

Bottle... TITW Part Deux... Clear, dark orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Only slightly oxidized. Malty, fruity nose with vinous notes of sherry, red wine and ethanol. Toffee esters as well. No semblance of balance in the malty, fruity flavor. Sweet and boozy. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes sweet and warming. Thanks to kmweaver for his generosity!

341ml bottle thanks to MartinT. Poured into a tulip glass. Pours a brownish black with s small head that quickly dissapates into small lacing. Aroma is strong with raison, sherry-ish cherry, some metal one may even say. But mainly I would say its a pruney alcohol. Taste is a bit metallic, with that alcohol pruneness present. A rather thin body, creating a watery mouthfeel. Low bitterness and a slightly less than moderate carbonation. A rather simplistic beer actually with not much going for it except its strong, canadian, and hard to come by. But sometimes thats all it takes.

Bottle shared with Poperinge. Very thin but lasting head. Strong licorice root and cinnamon stick scent. Thick mouth feel. Strong malt, licorice and nutmeg flavour. Not a lot of layers or complexity but a solid enjoyable beer with a thick long dry spice finish.

330 ml bottle courtesy of tiggmtl, served in a Chimay goblet at cellar temperature. A smallish receding tan head tops the deep translucent reddish-amber-brown body.....the nose, ultra-rich and caky, with chocolate syrup and mousse, burnt caramel, butter cream, toffee, light roast coffee and it seems to me, a Trappist yeast or something quite like it, wow it’s a wallop of complexity....rich, moderately sweet thick body with some dry sourness edging in towards the finish, too much alcoholic bitterness and harshness overall, alas...peppery finish, soft and well-carbonated though perhaps a bit over the top, thick and almost cloying body....overall it’s more than a bit hot but I think will be really somethign special with a couple of years.

(Rating #624)

341 ml bottle. Medium carbonation. Thick head that disapered quickly. Chocolate and caramel aroma / taste. I don’t really like chocolate, so that’s why it got a bad note from myself, sorry.
