Commercial Description:
Un genre d'hybride bière/tawny/cognac... Des fruits, cerises, dattes, caramel et tout le pataclan sur une finale toute chaude d'alcool. Une gaterie à partager avec l'être cher.

For me the brewer, it's not made to be an American Strong Ale or something else. It's made to be a kind of barley based port-style with very little carbonation, just enought to protect it against oxydation.

Bottle acquired in trade with MartinT (thanks!). Poured a medium mahogany color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of toffee, dark fruits, nuts, and light alcohol. Tastes of caramel, dark fruits, and had a brown sugary sweetness. Light alcohol in the finish (but not near the 12.5%).

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a translucent reddish amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, vanilla, caramel and alcohol. Flavors of the same but actually a bit lighter on the alcohol.

Poured a translucent caramel color, with a thin, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel malts, vanilla, some smoke, and light alcohol as well. Taste of sweet caramel, near cloying, with dark fruits, some toffee, and light alcohol as well in the finish.

A very full-bodied beer, sweet with taste of wild berries, cherries and grappes. Alcohol is present, a digestive beer.

(Bottle) Courtesy of Luc the Duke. Pours headless with an oily deep copper body. Nose of strong caramel, brown sugar and a overwhelming booziness. Flavour is somewhat like the Mild Ales of the Mid-West USA... highly alcoholic and malty. Cherry notes with a cognac elixir. I wonder what the "S" stands for?

Thanks to MartinT for this beer It pours dark brown, almost looks like cola. It has no head, and very little carbonation. The flavor is caramel, sticky sweet. I probably would have liked it better on a cooler day. This is an autumn/winter beer, not one for a 90F (32C) day.

courtesy of Oakes - clear adrk brown colour with a very little foam; aroma of plum and pear; high carbonation, very thick and oily, strong sweetness before a long malty and plumy finish and a big warming alcohol kick - way too sweet ... et n’a pas convaincu l’être cher ...

Cola brown color. Thin off-white head. Hmm... interesting flavor. Fruits and nuts, odd grassy hops with Belgian-seeming yeast remnants and caramel. Really delicious complex flavor... something about it... maybe the dark fruits gives it a belgian feel. Also has a bit of alcohol edge... not enough to ruin the flavor as it is good, but enough to make it noticable.
