| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Ruby, lasting beige head, good lacing.
Aroma is of caramel, Christmas cake, some liquorice, dark fruits.
Flavour is spicy, plums, moderetly sweet, lots of liquorice, watery.
Watery mouthfeel, light body, mild carb.
Finishes with lots of liquorice, sweet and thin.
Not the best from Bieropholie. Too much liquorice and why to thin.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 340ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a thin head. The aroma was of caramel but no hops that i could detect. The taste was heavy sweetness which took a little getting used to. The texture was sticky, with soft carbonation and a long finish. If i could use a shoulder shrug i would, so i will just say Meh. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Murky brown pour with a thin beige head. Anise dominates the aroma, there seems to be some caramel and earthy malt in there, but it’s crushed by the anise. The flavor has a bit more balanced, the anise leaves some space for the caramel and earthy malt to express themselves, but still keeps the center stage to itself. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. Not bad at all, but there’s way too much anise in there. Diogène (584), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 25, 2009 Bottle. Very deep brown-red with a medium foamy mocha head with average retention and great lacing. Aroma is a ton of liquorice and caramel, molasses, plums and spices. Very very sweet. Flavor is liquorice, caramel, spices, molasses and alcohol with a slightly bitter and sweet finish. Full body. Bièropholie is a brewery that often visit the extremes, but is one has a total lack of drinkability. Its mainly molasses and liquorice. TheJester (741), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2009 341 mL bottle. Opaque orange-brown with a brown head that begins well, but fades to a thick ring. Really a lovely smelling beer; smells like the mint humbugs my grandfather used to eat. The flavour is dominated by black licorice, along with some mint and a touch of chocolate. Has the malty sweetness of a Scotch Ale, but it is certainly not overdone. A touch of bitterness at the end. Little of the roast and none of the smoke you sometimes find in a Scotch Ale. Very drinkable. Fred82 (405), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 10, 2009 341 ml bottle. Pours dark brown with almost no head. Powerfull aroma. Notes of alcohol, caramel, spices. Strong taste that I’m unable to identify. Maybe anice like some said. I have to say i don’t like it much. Seems well crafted and good quality but it just ain’t what i like. Rating 17. 100209 bedainedebiere (292), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada
