It was very well balanced and very sweet compared to most. I actually had two pours from draft yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand

Mashing in warm ups... delicious black brute of a bear. Roasty, clean and amply hopped. Slender and surprisingly tender (though I imagine a few bottles of this would sting you in the morning, if not the pocket). Travelled well. TheGrandMaster (1862), Auckland, New Zealand

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2009 The best beer that i had while visiting. Poured a nice black hue with a bone color had that had thin layer that coated the glace all the way down to the bottom. Aroma was heavy with roasted malt notes. Flavor was very dry and had a great balance between chocolate and coffee notes. Could have had more body to it but still nice. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2009 On nitro at the Florida Brewers Guild BeerFest 2009. Pours deep dark garnet with copper edges with nice creamy nitro enhanced mocha head. The moderate aroma has roasty malts, a bit of burnt malts, a touch of caramel sweetness and molasses. The taste is roasty, modest burnt malts and touch of grainy malts. It then becomes somewhat burnt by midway to go along with the associated roasted malts astringency. Into the finish an underlying thin layer of earthiness is noticed as well as a hint of molasses. sebletitje (1925), Tampa, Florida, USA
