Oct 4, 2009 26/08/2009. bottle from Beerstore, shared with TheGrandmaster. Mashing in warm ups... delicious black brute of a bear. Roasty, clean and amply hopped. Slender and surprisingly tender (though I imagine a few bottles of this would sting you in the morning, if not the pocket). Travelled well.

Aug 30, 2009 Botte (in NZ with yalnikim). A good amount of hopping - giving it a grassiness and spiciness. Quite sweet, but nice and roasty in the finish.

May 5, 2009 The best beer that i had while visiting. Poured a nice black hue with a bone color had that had thin layer that coated the glace all the way down to the bottom. Aroma was heavy with roasted malt notes. Flavor was very dry and had a great balance between chocolate and coffee notes. Could have had more body to it but still nice.

Mar 8, 2009 On nitro at the Florida Brewers Guild BeerFest 2009. Pours deep dark garnet with copper edges with nice creamy nitro enhanced mocha head. The moderate aroma has roasty malts, a bit of burnt malts, a touch of caramel sweetness and molasses. The taste is roasty, modest burnt malts and touch of grainy malts. It then becomes somewhat burnt by midway to go along with the associated roasted malts astringency. Into the finish an underlying thin layer of earthiness is noticed as well as a hint of molasses.

Pours black with mocha like head.
Aroma roasted malts with light coffee aroma,.
Taste of roasted malts and light chocolate with a mix of hops. Finish is crisp with light notes of coffee.
Tasty, but not groundbreaking.

Mar 7, 2009 The aroma is weak and acidic but has some coffee and toast. The appearance is brown with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin for the style. Overall it’s average.
