| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Draft... Mostly clear mahogany lager with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Malty, fruity nose and flavor with notes of caramel, toffee and honey. Proper hopping allows the malt to roam freely without overstepping its bounds. Full-bodied and fatty with prickly carbonation. Lengthy, moderately sweet, honey finish that winds up almost dry. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2007 My Bottom Line:
The fruity caramel maltiness and earthy noble hops of this tasty dunkler bock create a comforting flavor sequence which remains drinkable throughout despite its chewy malt abundance.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear dark red hues.
-The body is definitely huggable.
-Again, this is served way too cold to be thoroughly enjoyed.
-The finish is clean and supporting hops are able to dry out most of the maltiness.
-Carbonation’s a little fizzy, not necessarily fitting the style, imho.
