Bottle courtesy of TheCheeseMan. Pours black with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, and caramel. Taste is chocolate fudge cake, coffee, caramel, and dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good.

Bottle Aces and Ates. Pours an ink black and coaxed a one finger creamy dark tan head. Nice pour. Nose shows mild smooth coffee, some roast, mild sweetness, chocolate, more mocha character than dark coffee, . The flavor has a coffee character that is very similar to a brewed coffee with a mild and subdued bitterness and acidity, nice roast, mild bakers chocolate bitterness and character. Nice bitterness to the palate, seems to come more from the coffee than from the grain or hops. Nice coffee stout.

Thanks to Rogueone for sharing bottle #1658, labeled as "Aces & Ates". Pours black with a thin tan head that retreats quickly to an outer ring. Spotty rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee and some malt. Medium, creamy body with flavors of coffee and milk chocolate, along with a touch of mildly bitter hops. The finish is smooth and roasty with a malt and coffee aftertaste. Decent overall, although it may have suffered a bit from being tried after the Wake & Bake which is more dry and robust.

Bottle called Aces & Ates, but this has to be the right one. Pours black with a thin light brown head. Coffee aroma with a malt and hop balance. Chocolate malt flavor up front, followed by a coffee and hop finish. Awesome stuff.

On tap at Watts Grocery, Derm. Been wanting to try this one and it turns out to be a pretty solid example of a favorite style of mine. Body is dark but not too oily looking. Thin carbonation, minimal head. I did not get any of the lactose in the nose at all, nor much in the taste. In fact, it came across as a fairly one dimensional and slightly thin coffee stout. Pleasant roasted malt characteristics, some crisp roasted notes throughout, but not an especially memorable beer. Solid, and will happily have again, though.

Black pour with small brown head. Aroma of coffee, toffee, and milk. Flavor of coffee and some bitterness with hint of alcohol in aftertaste. The ABV on this is 8% by the way.

Draft at Watts Grocery, labeled as Aces and Ates. Black pour with bubbly light brown head. Rich and sweet, though a little lighter in body than expected. Tons of lactose, sweet coffee, and hints of coffee. Very good, but on the sweeter side of coffee stouts.

On draught at Speakeasy. Pours black with a small tan head. Nose is lactose, black coffee, light cocoa. Flavor is similar with some roasted malts, more coffee, and a light sweet finish. Pretty darn good stout from these boys.
