Commercial Description:
This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

12oz bottle acquired in trade (I can’t find who this came from, if it was you, let me know!). Poured a deeper brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, light caramel, and some nuts. I was also getting an earthiness to it. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, toasted malts, and nuts. Thinner body.

Bottle. Pours reddish brown with off white head. Aroma is copper and malt; very weak and not very pleasant. Flavor is nuts, caramel, bitter and not very tastey. This is the worst beer that I’ve had by Edenton.

Draft at the Durham World Beer Festival. Clear amber with a creamy off white head. Certainly nutty nose and flavor, something is off here. Like bad walnuts. Eh.

Dark reddish-copper brown body with an ecru-colored body. Putrid, sour aroma - maybe some nuts? Smells yeasty. The flavor is very nutty, and sweet, with somewhat caramel flavors. Sticky, bitter, buttery finish that’s not too pleasant.

Bottle from ross - deep amber pour with large but short-lived head - almost tart, earthy aroma, with herbs and a touch of nutmeg - thin-bodied and thin-flavored - hints of cherries, caramel and milk chocolate, all of which taste artificial - almost sour finish - really not that enjoyable.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a very small khaki head. The aroma is sour roasty malts. The flavor is sour roasty malts and bitter floral hops. The beer is a bit thin and watery.
