It has a nutty sweet aroma with little carbonation. The overall mouth feel was smooth and quite fllavorful, the flavor lasted quite a bit after the swallow. Definetly a good brew, and just right for the Brown Ale catogory!! beerbill (1977), Laurel, New York, USA

Pours a dark brown with a moderate creamy tan head that dissipated very quickly and left only a transparent thin film on the glass. Faint aroma of malt and brown sugar. The flavor is weak malt up front followed by a decent dose of chocolate. The chocolate becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Very mild hops bitterness at the finish. Light, almost watery body. A middle-of-the-road brown ale. AtlAggie (139), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Aroma of dark fruits, sweet malt, hints of roasted coffee, slight smokiness. Slightly smoky flavor too, as well as lots of malts, plums, figs, just a slight hop bitterness at the end. Fairly thin body, easy to drink. Very drinkable and enjoyable. kramer (2516), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a nice dark brown body with a fizzy soda-pop like light brown head that ran to a thin ring quickly. Nice nutty nose with some cocoa powder and a touch of huskiness. Some fruitiness as well. The flavor is pretty standard, the usual mix of chocolate, nuttiness, and a bit of dark caramel. Just the slightest touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Lighter bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation, it’s pretty easy to drink and fades from the palate fairly quickly. Overall, about what you’d expect. jrob21 (1278), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Pours dark brown with a nice frothy tan head. Meaty nutty aroma and flavor with some sweet candi sugar. The hops are off for me here and they are not complementing the sweet malt very well. A sort of a stinging hop bitterness that never sits well with me. TheShat (131), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Aroma is of heavy malt with some yellow raisin. Taste has some malt, brown sugar, raisin, but is then overwhelmed by a cardboard like flavor. Not sure if this is supposed to be some woody characteristic but it is not good. Like if you let your McDonalds soda sit for a day then try and drink it. Mouthfeel is ok with some carbonation. Might be drinkable if not for this large problem also. Will have to try this again on draft if I can find it. Cavie (1503), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

The aroma on this beer was awesome, so fresh smelling. Very dark pour with minimal head. The taste was that of the smoothest dark beer I have ever tried. A nice mix of roasted malt with a touch of caramel make this a top notch brew.
