Commercial Description:
This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

Bottle. Almost black pour with a nice firm, tan head. Clean coffee and chocolate powder flavors and nose. Just a touch of bitterness and a sharply carbonated finish. A solid session brown ale.

Bottle, pours a medium creamy light tan head. Smells faintly of earthy Fuggles. Flavor is a bit roasty, mild hop bitterness, mildly malty body. Fairly well attenuated, finishes out a tad watery. Smooth drinker, could be a pitcher pounding session type beer. Decent local brew, no glaring flaws.

On tap at the Red Drum Grill and Taphouse in Nags Head, NC. Pours cola brown with a fizzy tan head. Light aroma of roast and cocoa powder. Same light chocolate flavor with some nuts and earthy hops. Medium body but kind of watery and spritzy. Dry finish.

Draft. Pours brownish black with thick head. Smell of chocholate and coffee. Interesting beer due to the aftertaste. Overall good but not great.

bottle. Aroma has notes of chocolate, malt. Average sized off-white head that mostly diminished and left no lace. Dark brown hue. Flavor is chocolate malt and weak. Palate is more than softly carbonated and light bodied. Overall a weak beer that doesn’t taste as good as it looks.

Dark beer, smells a bit nutty. Taste bitter with a hint of chocolate. Surprisingly light for how dark it is but still good. Okay taste while drinking it but not as good after taste. It’s not a favorite but it’s a good beer.
