Pours a clear mahogany color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma was caramel malt, light nuts and a little earthy. The flavor is moderately sweet, caramel malt, some watery fruitiness, and light chocolate. There is a slight earthy quality as well. A touch on the thin side. Not exciting, but drinkable. Pours a deep dark mahogany brown with an average size fizzy light beige head. Malty aroma with lots of grain, slight nutts and a hint of earth. Thin bodied that is heavy on the carbonation. Slight chocolate flavor with notes of slightly burnt toast, earth and nutts that finishes slightly sour. Big Boss brews this, I always wondered what happened to him after he left the WWF. durhambeer (1225), Durham, USA

Roasted malt, slight nuttiness, but pretty much ruined by thin palate and sour aftertaste. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Aroma of sweet toasted caramel with some nuttiness and mild earthy notes. Starts with a good dark caramel malty sweetness and toasted hazelnut flavor with a touch of earthy bittering hops before a semi-dry finish. A pretty good and true to style brown ale. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 23, 2008 I found this to be rather one dimensional, with hints of caramel and malt. A simple brown ale that is easy to drink yet is nothing noteworthy... Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA

This one could almost be classified as a porter.... Much, much darker than other browns.... Aroma of roasted malt and quite a bit of chocolate....
Very surprising taste of sweet roasted malts and a definite chocolate/cocoa finish that sets this one apart from most browns to me....
Great little beer from North Carolina.... What a treat...
