Commercial Description:
This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

Clear brown body with a small tan head. Sweet, toffee nose with nuts, brown sugar and light molasses. Flavor is lightly sweet and watery with light molasses, nuts and cola. Light thin body is moderately carbonated.

12 oz. bottle via trade with TURDFERGUSON - Pours a clear brown color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is a toasted caramel malt and a light nuttiness. Taste like a decent Nut brown. Light to medium body. Nothing special, but an easy drinking Brown. Thanks Sam.

The aroma was roasty and nutty with a strong presence of chocolate. Caramel lurked in the background as well as a bit of earthy and grassy hops. The beer poured into the glass crystal clear dark brown with a beige head that lasted byt an instant. The flavor was nicely malty with a milk chocolate and caramel flavor up front and a light roastiness lurking behind. The flavor was lightly fruity and had enough bittering to take the finish to just dry. The body was medium with a low carbonation. A pretty darn good brown ale, perhaps more head and a bit more carbonation would assist the aromas and flavors. 12 ounce bottle. Bottled D 07.

Bottle labelled Uncle Nut’s; brown color with almost no head. Aroma was too faint, but good; chocolate and caramel. While not fantastic, I am surprised it is this low for the style. The flavor was pretty solid with caramel, chocolate, sugar, with a slight toasted element. Palate was ok. Overall found it above average for the style.

Sampled at Brewgrass 2007. Clear copper color, moderate off-white head. Mostly sweet malts in the aroma. Not a whole lot going on taste-wise - sweet caramel tones and some light bready character. Not real distinct.

Pours out a clear brown color with a nice beige head. Aroma is sort of malty as is the flavor. Not a complex brew and not real good either.

pours a clear brown with full frothy head. light , no aroma, smooth light and lax complexity. not much going on, but may go good with food, maybe?
