Commercial Description:
Our strong wit beer is brewed with curacao orange peels and fresh ground coriander. The orange enhances the natural citrus flavors derived from the fermentation of our special Belgian yeast. This is an unbelievably refreshing and easy drinking ale, but please be cautious; it is stronger than you think!

Growler thanks to Turdferguson. Thanks Sam! This was surprising for a double wit. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin lasting head- but lower carbonation that it should have since it was a growler. Aroma is actually very similar to a saison- im curious as to what yeast strain they used. Lots of spicy phenolics, pepper, dandelion tea, orange and lemon in the very background. More green pepper flavor, lgith doughy yeast, cream of wheat, light phenols, some vanilla and a whispy doughy finihs. Nice double white for sure, but I wanna say if they used some kind of saison yeast, this falls more into a saison than a double wit. Would be interested to try fresh on tap with a high carbonation.

Hazy yellow-gold color with a minimal head. Aroma is big, sweet, & spicy - lots of orange peel, coriander, and assorted spices. Flavor is sweet with citrus, banana, pepper, wheat, and earthy spice. Nice tingle as it goes down. Unique - I would put this one above Southampton’s Double White

I was quite impressed with this beer. On tap at Tylers in Durham, NC. Pours gold and smells like corriander and citrus. Light lacing. This was a great thrist quencher that has nice warming capabilities. A sweet balance of flavors consisting of caramel, wheat and malts

The aroma was bitter orange peel and coriander with a peppery spice note. Wheat made an appearance and brought with it a light sweetness and caramel character. In the glass the beer was lightly hazy pale golden with a low persistent white head which laced the glass. The flavor was malty with a nice caramel sweetness and orange/coriander character. The peppery spice was very well done and the wheat flavor (unmalted) was spot on. The body was medium-full and the mouthfeel was round and creamy. Only a very slight presence of alcohol was notable. Very refreshing and a great pint! Pint at Tyler’s in Durham.

Pint at Tyler’s, Durham. Well, this is a pretty jacked up witbier. Another winner from Big Boss, who are really coming on strong in N. Carolina. A lustrous and somewhat cloudy amber body, it’s got a big spiced palate up front, with hints of banana and orange peel in the nose. As you warm up to it, there’s some alcohol heat (a bit too much, which is why the flavor rating isn’t better) and spice. Really nice stuff.

Hazy yellow color with a fairly thick white head. Fruity aroma brings bananas and spicy bread to mind. All the good refreshing flavor you expect from a witbier but with a nice hearty mouthfeel. Works great as a warm weather thirst quencher but I can’t help but think it might work just as well in the wintertime as a warmer.

Wow...the 2nd to review huh? Tap at Milltown Carborro. Avg., white head (mostly dissapated)-good lacing present. Pours a cloudy dark-orange. Strong corriander, oranges, lightly peppery. Really sweet (even slightly sweet for the stlye). Light alcohol warming. After all is said and done...this was the best witbier I have rated.
