hazy dark caramel, wispy beige head, streaks of lace, sweet dark caramel malt aroma with light citrus and a touch of sweet pine, body starts a bit thin but becomes thick and sticky, caramel malt flavor, sweetness is well balanced with light citrus hop flavor and a long bitter finish, hop flavor keeps getting stronger and picks up some piney sweetness, keeps getting better and better as you drink it

Deuces Wild I2PA-on tap @HopfestNC-pours a retaining foamy light tan head and amber color. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is alcohol, citrus hops-some bitter, medium malt. Occasional.

Sampled from a growler on 3/14/07: Pours a transparent coper orange with a spotty-lacing, small frothy off-white head. Aroma of fresh, earthy, grapefruity hops with some sweet caramel malt. Body starts fresh, sweet and caramely malty with a lot of grapefruity bittering hops and a warming finish. A decent double IPA.

Growler: Poured a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Grapefruity hops start out the aroma with sweet malt underneath then some alcohol. Light earthy hops were detected after the beer warmed. The flavor was a mix of hops and malt with a sweet finish. The finish was also moderately bitter.

Draft glass at the brewery; orange-red and extremely still. This lacks any real aroma. Lots of whopping bite to this one. Strong alcoholic burn with a burnt caramel twist. (#2821, 4/27/2007)

Sampled at the 2007 Hickory Hops. Nice stuff, a nice mix of sweet and bitter, on a smooth, almost creamy palate. thoroughly enjoyable, and the server was really cute too. Can I use that as criteria to bump up the "appearance" score?

On tap at the speakeasy in carrboro. Poured a clear dark amber with a sudsy white head. Nose was dirty, earthy, citrus hops. Flavor is sweet with caramel malts with a lot of bitter hops in the finish. Alcohol pretty well hidden. This is pretty good, but it could be much better. In any case, big boss is putting out some nice beers and i appreciate it.
