wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Dec 31, 2007 Draught--I have no idea where--rating is on a receipt that has been through the laundry. Appearance is copper colored, with a small white head, and nice lacing. Aroma is a little caramel, and some kind of fruit, maybe banana or plum. Flavor is malty, sweet, and it has a good crisp finish. Some hops, but not enough to make it taste like something other than a bock. Good beer. NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Mar 19, 2007 The aroma was fruity and estery with a light presence of banana coupled with caramel and a malty nose. The beer was clear amber with a low white lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was smooth and malty with a light candy presence and a nicely achieved malt character. The bittering level was such that it struck a nice balance between hops and malt with malt still leading the charge. The hops were light, spicy, and well done. The body was medium and the carbonation was a bit on the low side but the beer maintained a creamy character to the mouthfeel. The finish was just dry and crisp. A wonderful bock flavor, with a bit too fruity of a nose. A nice beer no matter what! Pint at Horniblow’s.
