decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Oct 20, 2009 Deep gold with a white head and lace. Light Belgian yeast and bread on the aroma. Light lemon, bread, and yeast on the flavor. Good carbonation from a medium bodied beer. possumjc (99), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA Oct 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow-amber with a thin white head. Aroma has some sweetness and citrus. Not very carbonated with a light feel. Slightly sweet and some hints of citrus in there. No real alcohol taste for a 7% beer. Drinkable but not really a standout. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2009 Minimal off-white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Sweet honey and creamed corn. Lots of sweetness, and a bit of ripe fruit. Clear dark gold in color. Kind of flat in the mouth. Sweet and oily and very smooth going down. A hint of heat from the alcohol. Mostly malts and a bit of ripe fruit again. An ok sweet malty beer if that is what you are in the mood for. No hops anywhere to be seen in this brew. wcampbell (567), Central, South Carolina, USA Oct 7, 2009 Really weak for the style, tasted more like 4%. Mild, light yeasty flavor with almost nothing else. Very thin bodied and a little watery. Mildly dry. Easily drinkable, but I expected way more. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Sep 6, 2009 On draught at the High Country Beer Fest, it pours an ever-so slightly hazed golden, with a light wispy white head that leaves spotty soap lace. Aerated candi sugars and spices to the nose. The flavors are subtle, with yeast and spices predominant. The finish closes on a dry spice note. There’s just not a lot here, honestly, and a very mediocre American take on the style. Lively carbonation and a thin mouthfeel corrale around some nice spice notes, but there’s just not the palate there to ensure a nice Belgian offering. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2009 I got this in a trade and for some reason didn’t bother to take good tasting notes beyond the numbers. Elwood (647), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Aug 4, 2009 Serving: Draft
Appearance: Cloudy orange-brown with a creamy, white head.
Aroma: Spicy yeast notes with banana and clove.
Taste: Fruity with notes of bubble gum, a slight sour note, and citrus.
Palate: Medium carbonation with medium-light mouthfeel and a short finish.
Overall: Light and refreshing. One of their best beers, but I am not sure if the sour note is supposed to be there. Start of an infection?
Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2009 From bottle. Light spicy coriander and some orange peel. Pleasant malt sweetness with some wheat and just a bit o sulfury hops. Medium amber-orange hazy with white creamy lacing head. Medium to light body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with light malt, wheat, and a bit of alcohol. Fairly smooth with some coriander and orange peel, light yeasty character. Finishes a bit sweet with little bitterness. Mild hops throughout, a bit fruity. Nice mild ale, with a bit of oxidation.
