Commercial Description:
This style originated in Belgium to compete with the pilsners from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Poland. It is a fruity ale with very strong carbonation, with complex, spicy flavors like cloves.

From bottle. Light spicy coriander and some orange peel. Pleasant malt sweetness with some wheat and just a bit o sulfury hops. Medium amber-orange hazy with white creamy lacing head. Medium to light body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with light malt, wheat, and a bit of alcohol. Fairly smooth with some coriander and orange peel, light yeasty character. Finishes a bit sweet with little bitterness. Mild hops throughout, a bit fruity. Nice mild ale, with a bit of oxidation.

Thanks ucusty for this extra. Pours hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. Nose is yeast, malt, pepper, apple, banana, light fruit, and some sugar. Flavor is yeast, light malt, some light fruit, and a hint of tart citrus that seems to linger. Finishes somewhat clean with a citrus/ orange finish. Medium-bodied and ok Belgian-style ale.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy gold with a thin white head. Spicy orange nose, sweet and yeasty. Some honey notes in the flavor, light and grainy. Eh.

Tap. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a thinning head. Aroma is yeasty, phenolic with a lemon zest kick and some peppery spices. Flavor is doughy and a touch overly sweet with carapils malt, yeasty phenolics, spic, pepper, clove, and lemongrass and a sweetish finish. Ok.

Bottle from biergarden in asheville. Clear golden color. Getting some honey flavors and an intense spice aroma. Aroma is completed with some belgian yeast characteristics. Honey flavors followed with some sweetness and citrus. This has full malt body.

Bottle. Cloudy marigold, short foam rubber head. Yummy spice-and-citrus nose has hefeweizen notes and kiwi. Spicy/fruity flavor is far milder than the aroma suggests- apple/pineapple and yeasty taste, clovey phenol finish. Medium palate, gritty texture. Very nice.

12 oz bottle: Pours a hazy yellowish orange with little head. Aroma with strong notes of orange and spice. Some malty sweetness as well. A nice fruity taste with strong orange flavor and a mix of spices. Overall a very good beer - my favorite from Big Boss.
