Pour is hazed golden with a lot of carbonation bubbles. 1/2 inch white head falls quick. The final pour of this beer was very cloudy and murky (even with leaving ~ 1 inch in the bottle. Aroma of sweet fruitiness and yeast spiciness. Some nice toasted maltiness behind that. Nice nose. Taste is initially a bunch of the fruit (apple, pear) fruit sweetness. Some burnt brown sugar sweetness present as well. The malt adds a nice toasted quality to the finish. The spicy, earthy clove yeast is present. Flavors are clean, though not that melded. Palate is medium, slick and oily, surprisingly not cloying. Carbonation is pretty high. Some hay grassiness is in the longish finish. Overall, a nice one, sort of a lower ABV Tripel. Thanks Bill! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Nice crisp hazy golden orange coloured body with a dense tan head - perfect in appearance at least! Aroma of yeast, coriander seed, curacao, lemons and a lot of wheat - pretty damn nice too! Medium-bodied; Strong assertive spices with cloves, anise and yeast coming through big time. Potent and complex aftertaste - pretty nice and spicy, not much sweetness here. Overall, a very nice beer - I don’t know how people didn’t like this one...I thought it was really good for an American brewing this style. I think it’s more of a tripel than anything else, but it could be classified by a plain old Belgie Ale. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Durham, North Carolina on 31-August-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 24-January-2009. kramer (2527), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow body with a very minimal fizzy white head that vanished very quickly. The nose is a little vegetal with some wet decaying hay and some light yeast. A little bit of spice if you really try hard. The flavor is just a little too muddled to even really determine a specific style. A little doughy malt, some spice, and yeast, but mostly that cooked veggie flavor dominates. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and heavy with a doughy stickiness and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this just wasn’t very good in any way at all. fonefan (11890), VestJylland, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Thanks Turdferguson. Pours a semi clear honey gold with a hint of orange tint. Small white head does not last long and ends in a ring. Nose is fruity, yeasty, and sweet spice. Feel is quite zesty but somewhat watery. Flavor is full of clove and sugar with warming alcohol. Fruit, yeast, and some earthiness. Finish is pepper spice. An interesting and decent beer. GeneralGao (3076), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Poured a hazy medium orange-brown color. The head was white and reduced relatively quickly to a thin film. Smelled of brown sugar, light clove, and butterscotch. Medium bodied and delicately sweet with light unexpected acidity. Possibly a bad bottle? Tasted of tart apricot, subdued brown sugar, and a splash of white vinegar.
