Commercial Description:
This style originated in Belgium to compete with the pilsners from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Poland. It is a fruity ale with very strong carbonation, with complex, spicy flavors like cloves.

bottle thanks to turdferguson. cloudy, deep gold pour with a thin cream head. slight sour scent along with that lovely belgian yeast and dried fruits. nice thickness and a very spicy aftertaste. a mild fruit flavor with clove stands out as well.

Bottle. Light amber body with a small white head. Strong perfumy and Belgian yeast aroma with spices, light flower notes, and fruit. Taste is sweet malts, Belgian yeast, fruits, spices, and candy. Body is medium with a strong, but dense, carbonation. The finish adds some bitterness atop of flowery notes, Belgian yeast, candied fruits, spices (clove), and sweet malts. Nicely done Belgian style beer.

Bottle. Hazy, murky glowing golden wheat colored body with a white head. Nose of perfumed wheat and Belgian yeast and huge notes of candy sugar. Flavor is pasty and plain up front, then dry/coarse/pasty over the middle, with an overwhelming amount of perfume wheat and coriander. Too much, very messy and confusing, like drinking potpourri.

12oz bottle, courtesy of ryan. Thanks! Pours a hazy apricot / peachy color; light off-white head with patchy lacing. Lots of overripe yellow fruits, bananas, and soft cloves in the aroma; very strong overripe fruit presence. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy yeastiness, bananas, solid cloves (slightly more prominent than the aroma suggest): ryan’s Duvel comparison seems right, though this is definitely chewier and less drinkable; reasonably tasty, sweet Belgian beer. Medium finish: toasty malts, solid yeastiness, and some dry cloves.

Courtesy of TURDFERGUSON. Hazy gold body with a tiny white head. Nose is bit too heavy handed with the banana, clove and bubblegum. Some notes of cotton candy, honey and herbals hops hidden in there as well. Light to moderate sweetness with moderate bitterness. Plenty of herbal hops but the seem a bit rough and ragged. The malts are very sugar oriented with mostly cotton candy. The fruit and clove character is a bit overbearing. Medium body is chewy with moderate carbonation.

Bottle; poured a murky, somewhat dark gold color. White head. Aroma was a bit strange; yeast, fruit, spice and something I couldn’t identify. Was ok after getting used to it. Flavor was a blend of wheat, bread and spice; a bit sweet and earthy. Fairly dry. Overall it was strange, but ok on a hot day.

A bit of a lemony flavor with some spice, this wasn’t as good as hyped around here, but better than average. At least it is a pretty pour of brown with a nice white head.

This is a blonde type ale, and I thought it was going to be awesome. It was pretty good, but it doesn’t end well... just seems to lack character and sort of shrivels up and dies in your mouth. Still have 5 more of these in the fridge, we’ll see how they go.
