Big Boss High Roller IPA II

Draught at Horniblows Tavern. Amber, with some haze, and a medium white head with lacing. Aroma is hoppy, but also very caramel. Flavor is similar, citrus and pine with hops, and a fairly malty caramel taste. Nice finish, with a little alcohol.

Overall: big sweet crystal malt favor, lots of balancing hops, nice bitterness comes in mid way through to balance and leaves a lasting bitter finish,

Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, raspberry, and juicy citrus hops. Flavor is caramel, biscuit, fruit, and a juicy hop fruit finish.

Growler: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a frothy, nicely-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy hops and nice lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts semi-sweet with a big, fresh grapefruity hoppy balance before a crisp, bittersweet finish. A very nicely hopped IPA.

Pints at brewery and later from growler. Good aroma, bitter. Grassy, lemon, little mealy around edges. Hazed brownish orange color. Big head on pints from brewpub, small head at home from growler, though with a more vigorace pour got better results. Got that reverse bubble thing going on. Bitter flavor. Has real bite. like aroma. Has some soapiness about it. Very rindy, grapefruit & lemon. Seemed a bit better at pub. Kind of on the english side of the IPA spectrum. wasn’t a jaw droppin brew, but solid. Very enjoyable.

This beer has a faint citrusy, lemony smell and pours a light, cloudy amber color. It has pretty decent head retention and an off-white head. It is lightly carbonated and has a big hop flavor. While the hop characteristic was big and bossy, it lacked the complexity that I prefer in other IPAs. However, this beer is perfect for this warm weather we’ve been experiencins, and would go nicely with a summer salad--something with a citrusy dressing that would complement this beer nicely

Cloudy amber with thin off white head. Citrusy hop aroma. grapefruit and pine with a nice malty back-bone to balance it out. Very hoppy and nice. 7.8% alcohol is well masked.
