Sep 9, 2006 Bottle. Pours with a nice rocky tan head. Amber/auburn in color, slightly hazy. Nice big nose - citrus, grapefruit, grassy. Nice malty mouthfeel, plenty of hops to cut the malt. Finishes with a good pucker. A good IPA.

Sep 8, 2006 08.09.06 12oz bottle that I think I got from Magjayran but it’s been a awhile. Particle filled dark amber beer with sturdy and lasting small off-white head of fine bubbles. Funny that it’s so full of bits because the bottom of the bottle was clean and this has been sitting in the closet for months. Odd aroma is candy-sweet (like Pez) and a bit soapy but also fruity and floral with hints of pine. Flavor is mildy earthy with lightly toasted malts and strong citrus pith with light resin. The body is soft but thin. Hops seem fresh and lively despite being a bit one-dimensional in the flavor (the aroma is all over the place). Finish is moist, thin, long, and less astringent than expected with all the citrus and resin in aroma and flavor.

Sep 7, 2006 Strong, hoppy, full, malt-filled aroma on this. Sweet and fruity also. The body is a copper-orangey color with a quickly fading white head. Somewhat herbal qualities in the flavor make this easy to drink and pleasant. Nothing spectacular or particularly complex, just a good all-around beer.

Sep 7, 2006 Bottle from ross - clear light copper/straw color, with small ring of lace - pine sap and woody, earthy hops in the aroma - slightly acidic, with a thin-ish mouthfeel - medium-bitter, with a fairly tasty, dry hop flavor, tempered by just a slight malt sweetness - some yeasty, bready notes - finishes with a long, dry hop bitterness - a decent IPA.

Sep 5, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Cloudy deep gold ale with a small, frothy, white head. Earthy, acidic aroma with notes of leather, grapefruit, pine cone and a mildewy funkiness. The flavor is moderately bitter and minutely acidic. Medium-bodied and fizzy. Lengthy, medium bitter finish.

Aug 29, 2006 Bottle. Overall, this is a decent IPA, but nothing to go crazy for. Hops are a little thin in both aroma and taste. Poured a nice coppery color with a fairly thick white head. A little citrus notes and some pine. A little thin, but not bad on a hot August day in OBX!

Aug 27, 2006 Draft at the Shockoe Craft Beer Festival, 8/26/06: Nice reddish amber. Beautiful nice piney hoppiness dug into a solid malt hole. Medium citric bite. Excellent IPA.

Aug 14, 2006 Pours an orange like color with a lasting white head. Aroma is full of pineyness. Nice pine like hoppy flavor with a solid malt backbone. A little citrusy finish. A solid beer.
