Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Apr 28, 2005 pours almost black with a fast fading head. aroma is roasted malt and a touch of chocolate-looks and smells like a porter. roast coffee flavor, finish is slight not quite a balancing hop presence. not bad i can easily drink this. Nuffield (2541), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Apr 25, 2005 90% opaque, rather dark brown with red hues, some off-white head. Served to Big Buck’s usual specifications: very cold, killing whatever aroma might have come out, so at first it was only metallic if anything. Then as it warmed it released toast and some cheese. The flavor took an inverse progression, at first providing a nice rich, roasted quality at the coldest temperatures, and then warming to drown out the caramel and roasted malts with a lactic edge. Moderately fizzy, not especially deep smoothness of body. Drinkable, at least. (on tap, Grapevine, TX location)
