We tasted all of the beers at big buck today, and this was the best of current availability (the belgian strong being second). Nice and dark, great color, but an unimpressive head. Aroma and taste were malty and complex and nice, a little hops as part of the complexity. On the heavy side of medium body. Quite nice, that’ll be my drink of choice if I go there again.

On tap, going on about 2-hr memory. Dark amber color, very nice head and retention. Especially sweet, particularly in the finish. Perhaps a nutty sweetness. Quite unique among the doppelbocks I’ve tried.

Head and lace are good. My favorite of the five I tried this particular evening. Nice color and the right level of bitterness.
