BallyLoser (126), Bellevue, Washington, USA Sep 29, 2007 Had at he Big Buck in Auburn Hills in 2005. Served with lemon, had a cloudy colour as expected. Slightly bitter, average overall for a Hefe-Weizen in the US. pope_phred (117), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2007 Updated: Jan 24, 2008Poured from tap in Grapevine, TX. This pour produced a beer with a cloudy pale yellow body and very little head which diminished fully by the time the glass was brought to me. There was no need for a lemon with this brew as the aroma carried strong notes of lemon and wheat. I had to let the beer mature to bring out the notes of clove described by the brewery, and could not detect banana. This was a full-flavored, tart, crisp, and wheat-flavored brew, well in line for a Hefeweizen. I was very pleased with this beer and will enjoy it again when I have a chance. Silphium (2027), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jun 26, 2007 On tap at the Gaylord, MI location. Basic, but tasty, hefeweizen, pouring a cloudy yellow-orange topped by a thick off-white head. Characteristic clove-banana ester notes paired with light bready, tangy wheat. They’re a dime a dozen, but hefeweizens are great for humid summer nights. fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 6, 2007 Draught at the brewpub, Heatwave Hefe-Weizen Cloudy blonde-orange color. It’s served with a slice of lemon, therefore the aroma has a mix of lemon and banana. Medium body, with a residual sweetness, a light banana taste, some spiceness and a final strong bitterness (for a Hefe-Weizen). BrandonB (70), Denton, Texas, USA Nov 25, 2006 Grapevine location, on tap. Excellent Hefe, great look, amazing flavor of some citrus (lemon) and banana. Nice head, cloudy deep yellow pour. One of my Big Buck favorites, and the same for a few other aficionados at the bar.
