This pour produced a beer with a cloudy pale yellow body and very little head which diminished fully by the time the glass was brought to me. There was no need for a lemon with this brew as the aroma carried strong notes of lemon and wheat. I had to let the beer mature to bring out the notes of clove described by the brewery, and could not detect banana. This was a full-flavored, tart, crisp, and wheat-flavored brew, well in line for a Hefeweizen. I was very pleased with this beer and will enjoy it again when I have a chance. BrandonB (70), Denton, Texas, USA Nov 25, 2006 Grapevine location, on tap. Excellent Hefe, great look, amazing flavor of some citrus (lemon) and banana. Nice head, cloudy deep yellow pour. One of my Big Buck favorites, and the same for a few other aficionados at the bar. Andrew196 (1089), Anaheim Hills, California, USA May 27, 2002 Not cloudy enough for a hefe. Good flavor though, a bit crisp for a hefe, but I appreciate how they didnt go all out on the fruity banana taste that brewpubs tend to try for in their hefes. Those tastes where there, but they didnt dominate...nice. BBB63 (3843), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 12, 2003 On tap in Grapevine, TX. (listed as Heatwave)Hazy straw hue with a small white head and minimal lacing. Thin-bodied. Very traditional aroma of spice, lemon, banana, and yeast. Nice spicy sweet taste with a becoming tart balance. Clean finish. Almost creamy and soft mouthfeel. Two excellent hefes in one week from Texas, who knew! Highly recommended. Aggie80 (688), Michigan, USA Aug 4, 2002 Okay head with a bit of lace. Typical cloudiness. Slightly different flavor then a normal wheat, different is not necessarily a bad thing. Refreshing with a touch of fruitiness.
