On draught. Tasted during trip to California. Dark brown colour with a nice head. Malty nose. Very malty taste little borring for a barley wine. It’s end up a little bitter and dry. Overall nothing speciel.

Seemed almost flat from the keg. Quite sweet with some berry notes. Nice bitterness and substantial body too. Falls a bit short in the finish.

seems they might of changed this one up on us here...because now this barleywine is on nitro. poured in tulip snifter with a huge tan creamy head, ruby brown darkness below. nose of sweet tobacco and crisp hops although not as big as you would think for this style. mouth creamy and dense clinging to your palate hiding the beer behind it. sharp hops and bitterness with a sweet alcohol back bone. average but points are given for originality of the nitro pour.

Aroma is primarily malty sweet with some hoppiness behind it. A bit darker in color than most barleywines. Head was very thick and took awhile to settle in the snifter. Very malty flavor up front, but a piney hoppiness sneaks up on you as you drink it. I’ve tasted it on several occasions, and it is definitely improving with age. A nice, complex barleywine.

The muddiest beer i have ever seen...just glowing a mustard brown pukey color...frothy, lacey, micro-bubbled head..a typical barley-wine aroma with a touch of toasted popcorn...hop touched bitter flavors but thats really all i can say about that.

Muddy light brown body that actually looks like a cup of coffee. A little lacing hangs on the glass. The aroma is very sweet with lots of candy sugar and malt. Not much else. The flavor is very similar with an odd bitterness. Not a good barley wine. Medium to full bodied and smooth.
