clear dark amber, lasting big tan head, rich malt aroma with lots of earthy hops, rich malt flavor, great fruity character, lots of balancing bitterness without being hoppy, picking up hints of oak?, good but lacking the wow factor

wonderful creamy nitro body, solid lace, a beauty to behold, soo much better in the full pour from the first sip, wow wow wow, wow, the rich malt comes through, fruit is trying but need another 6-12 months to bloom, still a nice vanilla oak character, hops are there to balance but not to be hoppy, neither English or American,

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Tasted on tap at the 2007 Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival. This Barley Wine pours a hazy and muddy medium brown color. Medium to small sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, caramel and malty. A medium bodied barley wine. Malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. Hops are earthy and mild. A touch sweet and perhaps a little thin tasting. This one is more in the English style of barley wine. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark

A little lacing hangs on the glass. The aroma is very sweet with lots of candy sugar and malt. Not much else. The flavor is very similar with an odd bitterness. Not a good barley wine. Medium to full bodied and smooth. DaSilky1 (2025), San Diego, California, USA
