Jan 4, 2008 2007 PP Strong Ale Fest: Poured a murky brown color with a beige head. Sweet fruity malt with some pine scented hops. Nice sweet malt flavor. Pine in the middle. The finish was a mix of malt and hop bitterness. Warming with a medium-full body.

Mar 11, 2009 Lightly hazed brown pour with tan head and lace. Light citrus and dates aroma. Large dried fruit, medium bitter with a nice sweet aftertaste. Smooth creamy full bodied with excellent carbonation. A very special bp bw.

Dec 14, 2007 Draft at brewery. Reddish brown with a smallish head. Nice dark fruit aromas. Similar flavors with a decent hoppy finish. I liked it.

Jan 10, 2008 Updated: Mar 10, 2009on tap-pours a tan head that laces and cloudy brown/red color. Aroma is sweet fruity, medium malt. Taste is sweet fruity, syrupy, medium/dark malt-caramel, alcohol, rock candy. Nice easy drinking. Mild carbonation.
090224-rerate12 additional months (now a total of 18) of aging have smooothed out the edges.

Feb 8, 2005 Aroma is primarily malty sweet with some hoppiness behind it. A bit darker in color than most barleywines. Head was very thick and took awhile to settle in the snifter. Very malty flavor up front, but a piney hoppiness sneaks up on you as you drink it. I’ve tasted it on several occasions, and it is definitely improving with age. A nice, complex barleywine.

Feb 26, 2008 Draft @ the AZ Strong Beer Fest - Pours a hazy deep amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma is floral hops and sweet malt. Flavor is a nice balance of hops and sweet malt. Not cloying though. Medium body. A very nice BW.

clear dark amber, lasting big tan head, rich malt aroma with lots of earthy hops, rich malt flavor, great fruity character, lots of balancing bitterness without being hoppy, picking up hints of oak?, good but lacking the wow factor

wonderful creamy nitro body, solid lace, a beauty to behold, soo much better in the full pour from the first sip, wow wow wow, wow, the rich malt comes through, fruit is trying but need another 6-12 months to bloom, still a nice vanilla oak character, hops are there to balance but not to be hoppy, neither English or American,
