Not overly hoppy, in fact a little less hops than I usually expect from an IPA, but it was quite tasty nonetheless. drjay44 (809), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Draft at SBR. Tasted 7/11/09. Pours a thin long lasting head, over a clear light golden (SRM 10) body.....nose has dominating grapefruit, with a bit of pine.....taste is remarkably light, with mild malts, and long lingering grapefruit...mouth feel is medium. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2009 draft at the Fishers, IN brewpub - Pours clear copper with a citrus and pine hop aroma. It tastes of caramel malt, lots of caramel malt, and a moderately hopped flavor that leads into a strongly bitter finish. It’s medium bodied and overall a pretty solid brew. ldg1413 (13), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2009 On tap at CB & Potts. Doesn’t really taste like an IPA, not hoppy at all. For that reason, perhaps I should discount it completely. But the head stands up which is more than Sierra Nevada can say. Great lacing. Smooth, doesn’t give you the gross-mouth feeling of many wannabe IPAs. satan165 (608), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 26, 2009 growler from rosemont location. nose is floral and contains a hint of the bitterness to come. appearance is a tad dark for standard. flavor is just bitter enough -- say what you like about the beer, but it is executed exactly as it was intended, the commercial description does not lie. mt. hood hops are an interesting selection and seem to have produced IBUs that dont break the bank, but also dont produce any esters or real complexities. malt profile is inconsistent, but when it ebbs and is at its best, it rivals a decent imitation of an english pale. ~Sticky grapefruit scent.
~Acidic bitter taste, citrusy hops.
~Medium feel, bitter acidic finish.
~Run of the mill IPA, which isnt bad, but not worth remembering. kassner (468), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Like their 71 but with more malt character and a little bit more packed overall., plenty of lacing, nice amber color. tmoreau (597), Lombard, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 5, 2009 On tap at Ram in Rosemont, IL. Poured an orange/amber color, with an off white, foamy head, and light, web-like lacing. The aroma was light citrus and light floral. The flavor added malt and medium bitterness that turned a bit harsh on the finish. Somewhat light bodied, but drinkable. A generic IPA.
