Commercial Description:
Brewed as a medium India Pale Ale, this full-flavored moderately hopped beer has the strongest hop character of our ales. Made for hopheads and new beer aficionados. The grist composition is 94% Pale malt, with the remaining grain bill consisting of carastan malts. The finishing Mt. Hood hop addition in the whirlpool gives this beer a good hop character without becoming excessively bitter. The beer is fined instead of filtered so the hop character is not stripped away.

Pours clear medium copper/orange in color (surprisingly not red) with a thin airy head (even with a generous pour) that quickly thins to a film. Aroma has nice fruity and hops nose (grapefruit). The flavor also tastes lightly of grapefruit (what hops is this?!?!) which lingers on the palate. Probably better served with a packet of sugar and a serrated spoon and you’ll be better off if you have read this and expect it rather than having it hit you by surprise. Overall, though, an enjoyable Big Horn offering.

12 oz. bottle via trade with IrishBoy - Pours an amber color with a small off white head. Has a nice grapefruit hop aroma. Flavor is mostly hops with very little malt. Thin palate. Light to medium body. Thanks Richard.

I had this on tap at C.B. & Potts in Broomfield, CO. This is a nice, medium, hoppy IPA. It was enjoyable.

Gift from IrishBoy. Dark amber reddishness. Aroma of hoppyness. Creamy texture with a hop bitterness that only comes from the PNW. Just my style.

(Tap) Pours copper with a small white head. Hoppy and bitter, without a whole lot of balance. Not too impressive for an IPA, but one of Big Horn’s better brews.

Draught: Reddish brown. Aroma of citrus hops. A simple, one-dimensional IPA. Huge on the bitterness. I ordered this cause I wanted something hopped up. This will sooth the craving of any hop head like me.
