Big Horn Black Cat Stout

I’m a bit surprised that this black, black beverage ranked as an impy. It’s less sweet and thick than many of that genre, with a flavor of roasted, cracked barley and oats against a smoky alcohol base with a rather hoppy finish.

This moderate bodied imperial was the requisite black color with a crisp head. The aroma was of roasted malt intermingled with alcohol. A distinct burnt roast and alcohol flavor with healthy hopping and finishing bitterness formed this beer. More subdued than many imperials, but with more of a kick than the average stout.
