Tap version was a bland and boring average amber. Bottle (from Ft. Collins) was well hopped - some pine, and a long bitter finish. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2004 Pours a cloudy murky brown color with a thin off-white head. Very malty taste, sweet, with hints of caramel and toffee. Aroma was very sweet as well, malty and rich, with a almost nutty quality. This brew was so sweet it was almost unnatural in a beer, still not bad though. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2004 Very dark for an amber ale, this beer is almost brown. It tastes a little like a brown ale as well. Not a bad beer (by Big Horn standards...), it has a decent flavor and a good balance between malt and hops. Duke (117), New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 4, 2004 This draft brew poured a small head of off-white colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a very good lace. The body was softly carbonated transparent amber brown colored. The aroma was a typical mild malt hop one with a slight "red" note to it. The mouth feel was smooth and almost flat with a minimal "red" bite. The flavor was malty and mild with amber hops noted. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

This beer had a small sized off-white head with fine sized bubbles that fully diminished. The body was transparent with a malty, hoppy and sweet nose. The flavor was slightly bitter, hoppy and malty. The mouthfeel was smooth and the lacing was fair. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 22, 2004 As I drank this for free, I can't really complain. But this didn't go to far. Palate is a little malty, with some chololate malt late in the finish. Tasted a little oxidized, a little grainy bitterness. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 15, 2004 Updated: Jan 16, 2004From a sampler at the Indy location: This beer is a dark copper/amber color with a medium light tan head. Fair lacing. The aroma is somewhat hoppy with a pinch of nuttiness. Medium body, with a tangy hops and overly sweet malt character. The finish is a little unbalanced on the sweet side too. Although I wasn't very impressed with this one it wasn't offensive or anything.
