Commercial Description:
The most complex of our beer line-up with a combination of five different malts and four different hop varieties. Buttface has the broadest popular appeal of our beers. It has a high malt character and lack of evident hops. This surprises people because it is easy to drink, but has a higher alcohol content than what is perceived.

I liked this amber. It was pretty good. A nice balance, however slightly muted. Deep dark reddish brown mahogany color with a fluffy head.

I’m surprised how rough people have been on this beer. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest thing ever, but I found it fairly enjoyable...more so than other beers I’ve had from RAM. Flavors are lightly sweet, caramely, and malty. Highly drinkable, and really a perfect crossover beer for the BMC crowd.

My favorite beer. A great blend that goes down smooth. The alcohol content sneaks up on you, as this beer always seems to give me a buzz faster.

Aroma with a little bit of hops, some sweet caramel notes as well. Beer pours a clear amber color with some head that goes away; there is not a lot of carbonation going on here. The beer is enjoyable enough, not a ton of hop flavor but really not much sweetness either. The beer presents a good dryness with flavors of caramel and a light roasted grain flavor as well. This drinks fairly easily.

This is a pretty solid amber for a restaurant/brewery. It’s nothing amazing, but goes well with all the food and can stand up on its own. If none of the specials particularly blow me away on the bee list, I go for this.r

A non-rememberable amber. A bit flat, thin on flavor, unimpressive. If you want a good amber, try Great Lake’s Eliot Ness instead, it is infinitely better.

(Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Clear amber ale with a vanishing head. Aromatic and flavorful chocolate and caramel malts with a nutty undertone. Medium-bodied, coarse, and abrasively dry with ticklish carbonation. Mojave-dry finish. Another over-attenuated beer from this brewpub. Too bad as it has loads of potential. Just throw a little residual sugar a brother’s way!

Poured the expected copper and ruby. The head was lacking and the lacing was light. Lots of malt in the aroma and unfortunately some alcohol heat as well. The flavor was sweet toasted malts and alcohol. Pretty much the same mouthfeel as the rest of their lineup. Not very good.
