Commercial Description:
The most complex of our beer line-up with a combination of five different malts and four different hop varieties. Buttface has the broadest popular appeal of our beers. It has a high malt character and lack of evident hops. This surprises people because it is easy to drink, but has a higher alcohol content than what is perceived.

Tap at the Ram in Seattle.

A great amber ale is a great thing, but a decent amber ale is pretty boring -- and this isn’t even a decent amber ale. On the positive side, aroma and flavor are straight ahead and not particularly offensive. The mouthfeel....well, let’s just say that while one is tempted to mispronounce this beer as "butterface amber," that suggests a better body than the amber can provide.

Ultimately, it’s just staggeringly boring, so much so that any of the other middle-of-the-road PacNW ambers seem interesting by comparison.

On tap at the Ram Brewing Boise, ID. Pours out a brown topped with a cream head. It has some caramel and roast not to bad.

Draft: brownish amber color with an off white head. Taste is dominated by malt, a bit of caramel, and some toasty tones. Pretty basic feel, easy to drink and easy to enjoy.

Draft at Ram in Seattle. Clear amber with a diminishing white head and spare lacing. Lighty floral toffee aroma. Medium/light body that goes a bit watery. Vaguely nutty roasted malt flavor with a lightly bitter dry finish. Interesting logo and name, but the brew falls a bit short.

A copper color beer. Nothing in here. Amber ale I guess. If you have an inkling to try these beers, don’t. These are so bland. You’d almost be better getting a macro than one of these. Disappointing and disheartening.

typical mass-micro amber ale. Brewed to appeal to the masses. No distinguishing properties that would make me go out of my way to get it.

On tap in a very well-priced sampler. Dark amber/light brown color. Mild nose with faint hints of malt. Smooth, silky malt flavor.

Had this one on draught at Brew Daze 2006. Copper colored pour, with a thin watery head, very little nose, caramel, chocolate and pronounced maltiness notes. Finished clean. Pretty good.
