Commercial Description:
The most complex of our beer line-up with a combination of five different malts and four different hop varieties. Buttface has the broadest popular appeal of our beers. It has a high malt character and lack of evident hops. This surprises people because it is easy to drink, but has a higher alcohol content than what is perceived.

Draught at the brewpub (Salem, OR location). Clear copper color with off white head that laced the glass. Not much nose to speak of. Flavor is dominated by malty caramel with subdued notes of molasses, soy sauce, and corn.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear. Dark amber in color. Almost clear with only a slight oily feel to it. Sweet malty aroma with some hops balancing the sweetness. Medium-bodied. Mouthfeel is lightly syrup, but still it is quite drinkable. Finish is somewhat sweet. Low in carbonation.

12oz bottle...Pours a brownish-red hue...not much froth produced on this. Aroma is full of malt, carmel...not very intense though...Drinks pretty much as expected...body seems lighter than it is because the beer seems to be lacking in CO2...so it comes of a bit lifeless and flabby. Malts dominate with carmel being the main character. Sweet, but some slight lingering bitterness shows up...though not quite enough to balance out the crystal malts. This is something I can drink easily, although a more prominent hopping would help add some depth and balance. Thanks Brent! I enjoyed it.

Bottle poured a dark amber with an a small dissapating amber head. Aromas of sweet malt, carmel and a hint of molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, sweet malt and some earthiness with a smooth lingering sweet finish. A very malty beer with no noticable hops.

In the bottle. Thanks bditty187! A bit lighter red thana woman’s bad hair coloring job. Off-white head, but the head retention is so poor that I’m not sure of it. Has a slight caramel aroma. Butt slight. Very sweet beer. Candy sweet in fact. Makes you acutely aware of the lack of hops. I get a bit of an odd vegetable flavor to this beer. The texture is very flat.

Pours a nice bright orange. Aromas of caramel, hint of fruit and hops. Nice creamy malt taste with a nice hop bitterness.
