hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 (Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Extremely murky yellow ale with a small, white, quickly dissipating head. The nose is a typical hefe unification of fruity banana, clove and Bazooka bubblegum with just a whisper of smoke. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Tangy, fruity and spicy. Fairly acidic with good bitterness. Finishes crisply.
Soonah (481), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 18, 2008 Poured the expected hazy gold color with an average white head. Bitter, medicinal aroma cut in the way of spicy clove and some sweetness. The flavor had a weird, dry minty, medicinal flavor that reminded me of Rolaids. The mouthfeel was fine. Not good. riversideAK (1561), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 15, 2008 Fruity esters and cereal in the aroma. Hazy yellow. Flavors of Wheaties, banana, and clove. A little sweet. Pretty fruity. ilovedarkbeer (690), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 30, 2008 On tap. The brewpub hefeweizen is a an interesting thing. They generally taste the same, seeing as most use a yeast from weihenstephaner wheather they know it or not. Cloudy yellow color with some orange highlights. Appears to be unfiltered. Smells of wheat, banana, clove, and something sweet. Taste is strongly banana and has a bit of honey in the finish. Very soft and sweet. Probably their best beer. Some lacing. BMan1113VR (763), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Mar 30, 2008 Had at Humperdinks on Greenville. Some lacing and retention. Hazy orange body. Aroma is the standard banana and clove. Taste is strongly clove and very watery.
