Angeloregon (1488), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 20, 2008 On tap at Big Horse in Hood River, Oregon--Light golden, straw colored beer with a medium-sized white top. Grainy, bready, and crisp. A little thin, but great for warm weather quaffing. 11026 (1886), USA Aug 10, 2007 Tap. Clear, straw to golden in color, fair white head and decent lacing. Pleasant aroma, grassy/hay with just enough smoke to make things interesting. LIght bodied, nice carbonation. Pleasant enough to drink on a warm summer evening and not weigh you down. Nice smoke influence perks up the taste buds but never overwhelms or interferes with the base beer. Truly well balanced, enjoyable and sessionable. Kudos for this one! Oakes (6779), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 22, 2007 Bright blonde colour. Whisp of a head. The aroma is lightly smoky with light bready notes. The flavour is accented toward heatless chipotle with light pale malt balance. Not sure how they worked that - even with seeds and veins removed a chipotle ought to still be hot - but hey it’s nice summer quaffing rauchbier. I like the concept. Like Schlenkerla Hell. Well-balanced and beaucoup tasty.
