DA (2261), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Nov 25, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Pours red/amber with a white head. Citrus hops in the nose. Sweet caramel start that adds enough maltiness to help along the big hop finish. This was a really nice brew, although it doesn’t seem to fit the amber, more so a northwest red ipa style. 11026 (1886), USA Aug 11, 2006 Medium to deep amber colored with a fair amount of red inflection. Clear. Nice sized white head lingers and leaves great lacing behind. Medium bodied. Hops all over the nose and taste. Full of citrus and lingering. Really bordering on IPA, some caramel flavors. If only all amber ales were like this... Oakes (6784), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 2, 2006 Tasted on launch night. Assloads of dry-hopping...amarillo or something like it. Like putting your head in a bag of hops. Big, citrusy, fruity bitterness. Only a shade of malt balance. Ahhh, pure hop juice, how I’ve missed you. Balance...aw, fuck it I’m a hophead.
