Nice gorgeous pour with a thick, tight creamy head atop a bright golden beer. The nose is bright and hoppy with lots of pine and citrus character. Freshly herbaceous dankness and a touch of grassiness. The flavour has a really nice juicy character. As it warms there is a weird solvent/higher alcohol character that kind of ruins it a bit. Started off really well, but couldn’t quite close the deal. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Cask at the Brazen Head: Slight hazy golden with a dense lacing. Nice looking pour. The aroma is bright and perfumy with lots of berryish hop notes, and zesty citrus. As it breaths there’s a touch of plastic phenolic character. Oily/soapy mouthfeel. Very plasticy in the flavor. Tons of off phenolics with a mild husky back. The desrired hop character of citrusy brightness is detectable, but the plasticy phenols are overwhelming. Eh. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA

More malt than an average IPA, but the hops used are great. A lot of grapefruit and more flavors are huge in this beer, making a very citrus filled brew. I enjoyed it a lot. pantanap (1354), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Nice citrus and floral hop aroma. Initial flavor is all sweet malt, turns to citrus hops and finishes with a big bitter hop bite. Takes a hit in appearance and plalate though. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2005 Tap. Orange amber colored with a nice white head. Good lacing. Nice fresh hoppy aroma, very floral with some citrus. Nice malt balance. Initial sweetness with a fairly quick hop buildup. A very respectible IPA. scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2005 New recipe and new batch at 7.2%. Lightly hazed orange, thin creamy white head. Awesome fresh hop nose of white grapefruit, pineapple, and light earthy pine, with soft notes of sweet malt lying underneath the surface. Flavor was hoppy grapefruit bitterness right up front, slightly earthy, with only minor hints of the malt coming through. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bitter finish. Just a bit too one sided for my liking, but still a good hopheads delight....
