Pours a cola colour with a brown stained head. Smell of sweet caramel malts and a little chocolate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Taste has a thick sweetness mixed with similar flavours of what is found in the aroma. Not enough of the coffee flavour for me. Others take over a bit more. Finish is short and sweet and a small bit sticky. Overall a smooth, flavourfull, and drinkable beer.

Feb 19, 2007 Deep brown, almost black colour with a small tan head. Roasted malty aroma with a heavy coffee and chocolate sweet note. Coffee bitter flavor with a vague chocolate sweetness and a hoppy note. Dry finish.

Dec 25, 2006 341ml brown bottle. Dark brown colour, head is small but quite creamy and long lasting. Leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is a bit dusty, light roasted malts. Flavour is roasty, dark roasted coffee finish, some iron. Medium body with light carbonation.

Dec 12, 2006 Bottle: Pours a dark mahogany with a medium, tight tan head.
Aroma is predominantly dusty coffee with some mild hint of hop.
Flavour was smooth coffee and dark malt. Finishes with a mild bitter flourish.
A bit thin, but tasty.

Apr 6, 2007 Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a weak head. Nice sweet aroma of chocolate and milk-like. Nice smooth flavour of chocolate, coffee and some roastedness.

Jun 27, 2006 12oz bottles courtesy of Poperinge and ChineseHercules. One bottle was sent to Papsoe. Extremely dark with a rather thin but lasting head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee and a hint of prune. The flavour is more plum than espresso. Thick body. As it warms the flavour is like a a chocolate plum pudding itself with a dusty coffee finish.
