dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Jul 18, 2006 Tap. Light gold with a small head. Almost no aroma. The body is thin, with a taste of corn. Doesn’t taste like a wheat beer. (Rating # 535) shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 21, 2006 Dull and watery. Took me some time to identify it as a wheat beer -- only most basic bready smells and esters pop up. Otherwise, it’s barely passable light-coloured beer with little to distinguish it. Drinkable, for sure, but not great. Pass the lemon... mooser (13), Ontario, Canada May 4, 2006 A great quality beer. AromaBig creamy looking head atop golden body. Small champagne bubbles running up through the brew. Very slight smell to it: bit of sourness. Smooth, yeasty flavor (though this is a filtered wheat) very slight tartness. Kind of bland. Not a whole lot of flavor or smell. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Apr 17, 2006 Golden wheat with a creamy white head. Malty aroma with grassy light mineral notes. In mouth, refreshing malt, cooling, biscuitty notes, medium bodied. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2006 I feel that there is a great elegance on the palate for a wheat beer....you can really taste the grains....to me the finish needs to be a bit stronger but an excellent beer. Beerman6686 (1264), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2006 This is a decent beer that i tried in a pub in windsor. much better than your common masss marketed crap, but nothing special and not very much wheat character DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Feb 26, 2006 Updated: Jul 9, 2006Here is what I said about this beer when I first rated it: "First of all, this doesn’t have any wheat beer character." I was wrong. In a head-to-head comparison with another local American wheat (Liplock by Nelson Brewery) it became evident that this is unquestionably a wheat beer, it’s just that American wheats are never as wheaty as their German counterparts (that took me some time to get used to I guess). Anyway, I’ve always liked it, probably as much for sentimental reasons as anything. Faint aroma of wet hair and mild estery wheatiness, with a wheaty fresh palate and a soft finish. A terrific summer beer.
