cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 A beer that made an appearance at my annual hockey pool. This beer had an aroma that reminded more of rye than wheat. It was a nice golden colour when poured. It is smooth to the tongue and is smooth tasting. I would certainly recommend this beer to somebody wanting to try a decent wheat beer without paying through the nose. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Jul 5, 2007 draft at esplanade bier market in toronto. cloudy yellow with big white head, the aroma is citrusy and the flavor is yeasty. typical wheat, but below par somehow. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 7, 2007 341 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits in Halifax, NS (May 2007) sampled just a bit above fridge temperature from an Allagash glass. About a finger of snowy, smooth head shows up briefly atop the bright, faintly hazy-oily gold body before disappearing with no lacing left.....nose of honey, a bit of lilac, faint lemon-bananas, a bit of worty malts....on the tongue there is just a touch of berry sweetness at the front but it’s an unkept promise as quickly a dry, somewhat alkaline character takes over, smothering flavor and fruitiness; from midpalate on this is thin, dry, brackish and watery, with a pronounced metallic character to the hard, joyless finish...low to moderate carbonation, unpleasant, soulless. dlkereluk (1), Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada does not count Apr 14, 2007 A fine light ale if taken from a fresh keg. It tends to have a more yeasty taste if the keg is a bit old and if the lines aren’t properly clean.
All things being equal, it’s a nice wheat ale that goes nice with most kinds of food. steaky (16), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 9, 2007 neutral smell with deep yellow colour. Head is thin, as is palate with mild hops and some, but little bitterness. Flavour is of mild wheat...not much else.
Good for when you are looking for a lighter brew without going macro. A light/pale wheat ale is a good description as someone mentioned. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Apr 4, 2007 quite wattery, kinda thin, not much flavour, you basic wheat flavours, nothing special, listless LadyCooper (100), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Mar 13, 2007 Light gold with little head and not much aroma. Good wheaty and yeasty taste, goes down wonderfully easily, although the wheat taste isn’t that strong. Think of it as a pale wheat ale. PtboBrewKettle (3), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada does not count Feb 15, 2007 An excellent summer drink. Fresh out of an icy cooler or served in a frosty mug. This is an example of how wheat ales should be. A touch of fruit out of the start with a bold/crisp finish.
