| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 7, 2007 341 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits in Halifax, NS (May 2007) sampled just a bit above fridge temperature from an Allagash glass. About a finger of snowy, smooth head shows up briefly atop the bright, faintly hazy-oily gold body before disappearing with no lacing left.....nose of honey, a bit of lilac, faint lemon-bananas, a bit of worty malts....on the tongue there is just a touch of berry sweetness at the front but it’s an unkept promise as quickly a dry, somewhat alkaline character takes over, smothering flavor and fruitiness; from midpalate on this is thin, dry, brackish and watery, with a pronounced metallic character to the hard, joyless finish...low to moderate carbonation, unpleasant, soulless.
