Slightly hazy, dark brown orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet honey toast yeast flavour with grainy bread crumbs. Medium body. A little sweet. patricks110 (285), Alberta, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Nothing exceptional here. A sweet and unusual aroma of sweet malts. Taste is sweet and malty. Cant really taste any honey. The beer is a bright amber with a thin head. Overall, would drink again, but not an incredible beer. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Looks great - chesnut brown, nice copper glow, thick creamy white head. Aroma is decent - sweet malt and a touch of actual discernible honey. Surprised me. Taste - again, somewhat surprising. Sweet malt, light to medium body (for the style) and more honey. Served cold, this one is not too bad at all. Nothing complex or earth shattering but comes as advertised (where so many honey browns do not) - a decent dark lager mixed with some sweetness. Cloying as it warms so drink it cold and you’ll be fine. mbgrayson (149), Anaconda, Montana, USA

Not overly dark, and of course, it has a nice honey flavor. Thunbs up from me, but I am partial to this style. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

Pours a deep amber topped with a thin off-white head. Taste is sweet, sweet grains and caramel malts, and I am getting this maple syrup flavour that matches the same in the nose.....almost like demererra. Sweet, fizzy, sweet, sweet, sweet. Ouch. Had this for the first time at Moxies, but I was already a little drunk. I figured I would give it a sober rating.
Holding true to my first rating, I still thought it was pretty good. It tasted sweet, sweeter than most would enjoy, but I acctually didnt mind it. Not too much aroma (unfortunately), looked nice with a dark orange-ish colour, cheap alcohol flavor but not too bad. To be completely honest I know this beer is poorly made, I know it doesnt have quality ingredients or careful brewing, but I just really enjoyed it. Isnt that what matters?
