Commercial Description:
Big Rock is pleased to bring you our newest addition to the family, PALE: India Pale Ale. Historically, the original India Pale Ale’s were cask conditioned and heavily hopped to allow the beer to mature on its long voyage from Britain to India. Our dry hopped, fermenter conditioned IPA is brewed in this traditional method. The result is an exceptionally well-balanced, flavourful ale; refined and subtle. In the spirit of refreshing our portfolio, we bid a fond farewell as we phase out Chinook Pale Ale.

it’s okay, not an india pale ale by any stretchh. Clean and refreshing with enough hops for flavour, but not enough fr the style.

Bottle: golden pour, smallish white cap with modest retention, weak lacing. Aroma is weal as well for a micro pale. some light fruit and cerial tones and some other funky cardboard notes. Thin mouthfeel, fiszzy, light malt up front and some minor hop presense, taste pretty much as it smess. Fast clean finish. I drank oceans of this in Calgary whe the Rock was the only micro in town...revisiting this beer documents their downfall into macro brewer wimpishness.

This beer as far as IPA’s go was a pretty big let down. Porus a deep golden colour with a short lived head. Aroma of dehydrated hops, cardboard malts, and crushed apples. The flavour is an exact reflection of that. It’s sort of interesting, a kind of refreshing, but really nothing special...at all, there traditional ale is considerably better.

Golden pour quckly dispating head. Aroma of cheap macro malts and a hint of cheap hops might even be extract. Flavor is slightly corny and there is a sweet caramel flavor associated with the malt and the hop completely disapear. This is a boring runof the mill macro ale.

Bottle. 5%. Hazy golden pour with a pretty thick white foam. Aroma was unpleasant, strong hops and old hay. Taste first reminded me of wet dog. Finish was quite bitter. Extremely disappointed, this is watery and disgusting. If someone finds this on tap in Edmonton, I would kindly re-rate. Re-Rate. Much better, but only so much. No canine taste, just a plain tasting, grainy macro ale. Was impressed by the aroma this time around, sweet apples and quite hoppy.

Pours a hazy orange with a smaller white head. Has a crisp citrus aroma. Palate has a orange and grapefruit taste with a nice bitter finnish from the hops.
