Commercial Description:
Big Rock is pleased to bring you our newest addition to the family, PALE: India Pale Ale. Historically, the original India Pale Ale’s were cask conditioned and heavily hopped to allow the beer to mature on its long voyage from Britain to India. Our dry hopped, fermenter conditioned IPA is brewed in this traditional method. The result is an exceptionally well-balanced, flavourful ale; refined and subtle. In the spirit of refreshing our portfolio, we bid a fond farewell as we phase out Chinook Pale Ale.

Light amber color. It’s a mild Amber Ale, with a light cheesy touch, more evident in the flavor than the aroma. Can be boring.

tap at Big Rock in Seoul - This one has a mild aroma of malt and grapefruit accented hops. The flavor struck me as very fruity and also quite sweet for what they’re calling an IPA. It’s barely hoppier than what Alexander Keith’s claims is in IPA. That’s not saying much. This one’s drinkable, but don’t expect bitterness.

Not a fan, very watered down and not taste to it. Big Rock produces some great beers, but this is not one of them.

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear, bubbly copper-gold with a small quickly diminishing white head. Mild aroma of grain, sweet malt and light hops. Watery flavour’s also of grain, sweet malt and light hops along with some cardboard and with a light bitter finish. Light to average bodied. Not bad for a Big Rock beer but there isn’t really any reason to buy this, there’s always going to be something better to get, one would hope.

[1008-KE-20071228] 341mL (c/o tupalev). Yeasty hay dough aroma. Clear, orange amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet hay yeast continues in flavour with a skunky tinge. Light-medium body with a watery astringency. Poor.

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Golden-copper colour with an average sized white head. Average aroma of grainy malt and earthy hops. Average body. Average flavour that follows the aroma - grainy malt, earthy hops. Yup - average.

Bottle courtesy of Tupalev. I have had this a number of times over the years and apparently not bothered to rate it. I remember it being pretty decent but either it has changed or my taste has improved. Golden yellow body with a small white topper. Sweet malt aroma with notes of caramel, hops and muted citrus. Flavour is similar with a sweet grainy malt foundation and light accents of caramel and light hoppy bitterness. Not bad for a fairly mainstream offering but its fairly modest overall.
