Fairly rich flavors ... sweet, brown sugar, syrup. Not much different than the pale ale I just had, but fuller bodied. Fresh on tap this was amazing tons of malt and a pleasing hop bitterness. Big Rock doesn’t keg this anymore. Unfortunately with a bit of age it tasted like fucking cardboard. I don’t buy this anymore but Page 56 of Michael Jackson’s GBG and only 467 Classic Brews to go. possum23 (1), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 I worked for Buzzard’s in Calgary, which introduced me to the fine variety of products from Big Rock Brewery.. really missing those beers! jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Amber body with a moderate creamy off white head. (3+) Caramel malt aroma, light grainy/cereal notes. Sweet caramel flavour. Slight notes of alcohol in the finish and a warming sensation in the throat. Average to medium palate could be thicker, but the lightness adds to the quaffability. Simple but surprisingly drinkable. Wish I had realised that this was available locally sooner. Pours a clear amber-orange with a nice size lasting foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit and mild hops. Mild but smooth flavour of caramel malt and alcohol with a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Nothing special but it’s a decent beer and definitely the best Big Rock has to offer.
