Very light hops add a gentle earthiness. Hint of chocolate, some very light fruit. Good medium-light body, solid flavors and quaff-able. Aroma is of slight sour yeast and brown sugar. One-note-ish but very tasty! Nothing wrong with this simple easy-drinking amber ale. Cirrhosis (623), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 5, 2009 A thick tan head with awesome retention sets atop a crystal clear ruby red to dark brown beer, most of the head disappears after a few minuets but a good covering remains the leaves behind some good sticky lacing. MMMM……..caramel malts and medium strength hops with some sort of spice witch I can’t figure out makes for a very good aroma, it’s a nice and strong aroma but not overpowering. Beer seem slightly watery but goes down good and smooth, this beer is all deep roasted malts that leave a bitter sweet after taste. No hops can be detected in the flavor just the goodness of the malts. This is a great tasting dark beer that’s readily available around town and most non beer snobs will split a pitcher of it with you. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Poured a dark orange color with a creamy off white head that left some lace behind. Smelled of subdued brown sugar and sweet cream. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet up front. Tasted of pale malt and light earthy hops. A bit of toffee emerged at the end. AaronBouchard (133), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
