May 20, 2009 Caramel, reddish color. Prominent head. Big, simple and not very memorable. Aromas of brown sugar, graham cracker, sugar. Same on the palate. Weird metalic twang on the finish, but thankfully it just drops of to nothing real quick.

Apr 9, 2009 Bottle 171 of 1800. Pours clear dark amber with a large, creamy, light brown head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, nutty), average hops (flowers, pine), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates, candied apples, pears, and brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Mar 22, 2009 Bottle Pours out a hazy brown topped with a sand head. Aroma of sweetness, brown sugar and pit fruit. Tast was of sweet caramel and brown sugar. A nice thick malt. Thanks Jake for the love sorry Jordan.

Mar 18, 2009 Bottle from tytoanderson, thanks T. A quad under 9% thats a new one. 41st quad rating. Tieing me with the bigman Ungstrup, on that note, happy 40th Jens. Bottle 1004/1800. Pours reddish orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet. Taste is sweet and slightly malty with a touch of smoke. Overall this interesting and drinkable but not up to style standards.

Mar 17, 2009 Bottle shared by Crosling. Poured a deep crimson-brown color with ruby highlights and a thick, dense beige head that faded to a thick later that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, light butterscotch, some light yeastiness, and hints of fig and raisin. Smooth, moderately sweet entry with some caramel maltiness, light brown sugar, and a moderate yeastiness with some dryness paired with a light plum and grape and even a soft smokiness. Moderate carbonation and nice mouthfeel. Overall, an above average beer, but it lacks so subtle complexity that makes great quads great.

Mar 17, 2009 Pros: Naturally carbonated giving a nice appearance to the ale. Caressing body is very nice.
Cons: Doesn’t have much depth or concentration. It’s not a complex ale, not a lot of definition, not much to describe.
While a beer of high quality, I feel the brewery could make some improvements on the recipe.
